Sophisticated One-Page Portfolio for Arvi Studios

The Challenge

Arvi Studios is a 3D visualisation studio producing high-end interior and exterior renders for architecture and property. Their work is visually stunning — but their website wasn't giving it the stage it deserved. They needed a one-page portfolio that felt as refined as the renders themselves: elegant, spacious, and completely focused on the work.
The brief demanded restraint. Minimal text. No distractions. Every interaction had to feel deliberate and premium. The site needed to function like a gallery — immersive and effortless — while still being easy for the client to manage and scale through a CMS.

Research & Discovery

Before touching a design tool, I researched leading visualisation and architecture studios to understand what makes the best portfolio experiences work. The pattern was clear: consistent image presentation, refined typography, generous spacing, and motion that enhances without competing. These insights shaped every decision that followed — from how filtering would behave, to how content sections would appear, to how the site would feel on first load.

Design

The site was designed as a single immersive canvas. A neutral colour palette and generous whitespace create a calm, gallery-like environment where the visuals do all the talking. All project images are aligned to a unified width for a clean, orderly feel, and typography was selected for quiet authority — modern, legible, and deliberately understated.
Filtering was designed to feel instant and effortless. The About and Contact sections appear as minimal overlays rather than separate pages, keeping the user anchored in the experience at all times. Every design choice came back to the same principle: elegance through restraint.

Development

This is where the project got technically interesting. The hero section features a custom randomised load script — each visit surfaces a different featured render, keeping the experience fresh without any client input. A structured CMS powers all project categories, enabling seamless filtering between All, Commercial, Exterior, and Interior views without a page reload.
Beyond that, I built a suite of bespoke interactions to support the premium feel: a custom logo-to-navigation transition on scroll, subtle hover states and fade animations, smooth overlay behaviour for the About and Contact panels, and automatic scroll-reset when switching categories to keep browsing tidy.
Performance was a real challenge given the volume of high-resolution imagery. I optimised every asset with WebP compression and implemented lazy loading throughout — keeping the site fast without sacrificing visual quality. The goal was to keep the front-end experience feeling effortless while handling real complexity behind the scenes.

Conclusion

The final site is a refined, immersive portfolio that elevates Arvi Studios' brand to match the calibre of their work. It feels premium from the first frame — from the dynamic hero to the smooth filtering and considered interactions. With a scalable CMS and optimised performance, the client can grow their portfolio independently without touching a developer.
This project is one of my favourites because it demanded precision at every level — design, animation, performance, and CMS architecture — all within the constraint of a single page. The result is a site that feels effortless, but nothing about building it was.
