WordPress Membership Migration to Kajabi

Role: Kajabi Migration & Infrastructure Specialist
The Overview: Executed the end-to-end platform migration of a premium, asset-heavy password-protected members portal from WordPress into Kajabi. Successfully ingested, mapped, and structured a massive digital library—including nearly 100 hosted videos, over 60 audio tracks, and hundreds of recipes and downloadable assets—into a polished, high-performance Kajabi Product ecosystem with zero loss of content fidelity.

🛑 The Challenge

The client possessed a mature, highly valuable WordPress membership hub that had outgrown its fragmented plugin ecosystem. Moving this complex hub into Kajabi presented several technical challenges:
High-Volume Data & Media Asset Ingestion: Safely extracting and transitioning a large-scale content library (94 videos, 60 audio sessions, 134 recipes, 69 webinars, and 9 downloadable guides) without breaking formatting or losing asset quality.
Structural Layout Replication: Translating a custom 7-tab WordPress navigation structure (Home, Audios, Recipes, Cooking Videos, Webinars, Supplements, Workouts) into Kajabi’s native Category/Post product blueprint.
Content Security Maintenance: Ensuring that previously password-protected premium content was perfectly locked down behind Kajabi’s secure access levels and offer checkouts.
Strict Asset Fidelity: Rebuilding the portal experience using existing copy, imagery, and text assets exactly as they were laid out on the legacy platform without disrupting the existing user experience.

🛠️ Strategy & Execution

Phase 1: Content Audit & Architecture Alignment

Media Mapping: Conducted an extensive audit of the existing WordPress infrastructure, cataloging all 94 Vimeo-hosted videos, 60 audio tracks, 134 text-based recipes, and 9 downloadable PDF guides.
Kajabi Blueprint Design: Developed a streamlined structural hierarchy inside Kajabi to mirror the client's 7 core WordPress tabs. Mapped out exactly how the categories and subcategories would house the text, video, and audio assets for optimal scannability.

Phase 2: Ingestion, Formatting & Product Construction

Bulk Uploading & Media Security: Directly migrated and uploaded the 60 raw audio sessions and 94 videos into Kajabi’s secure native cloud hosting, removing the client's reliance on external, fragmented player setups.
Content Layout Replication: Formatted and populated 134 detailed recipe pages and 69 expert webinars. Re-embedded all original imagery, text descriptions, and step-by-step guides, matching the precise styling and copy layouts from the legacy WordPress site.
Resource Optimization: Cleanly attached the 9 downloadable guides and PDF reference materials to their respective phase modules as native, secure Kajabi downloads.

Phase 3: Access Control, QA & Handover

Offer Strategy Alignment: Configured the underlying Kajabi Product backend and Offer architecture to gate the entire portal, ensuring only active, authenticated members could access the content.
Cross-Device Testing: Run comprehensive quality assurance checks on all 360+ imported lesson items to guarantee flawless audio/video playback and layout responsiveness on both desktop and mobile views.
Asynchronous Walkthrough: Delivered a screen-recorded completion audit verifying that every piece of the legacy portal had been perfectly mirrored, allowing the client to initiate immediate user transitions.

📈 The Impact

Unified Platform Architecture: Successfully moved a fragmented WordPress portal into a single, cohesive Kajabi dashboard, removing the client's need to maintain messy external plugins.
100% Content Preservation: Flawlessly migrated over 360 high-value assets with zero media corruption or broken pathways.
Reduced Overhead: Eliminated the ongoing subscription costs and security risks associated with legacy third-party WordPress hosting, video embeds, and membership protection plugins.
