Payactiv Mobile App Explainer Video

The Story Behind

Payactiv wanted a short explainer video to showcase their mobile app’s new features and branding, “Live. Grow. Connect.” They needed the video to grab attention on social media, in user emails, within the app itself, and even on their company website. The goal was to generate excitement about the app’s new design. To save time and budget, they opted to use a set stock videos from the 3rd-party asset library instead of hiring a video production agency to film for them. They provided me the UI design elements, logo, and new branding guidelines for the video.

The Solution

The trickiest part was finding clips that would work well with the animations we wanted to create. It took a while to find just the right ones.

After selecting the stock footage and got their approval, I began animating the provided UI assets. This brought the app’s design elements to life and made them visually engaging. Then came a more technical step called rotoscoping, which can be time-consuming and slow down the editing process. However, it was necessary to achieve the desired visual effect.

Finally, I’ve added some finishing touches to make everything look polished and professional.

The Result

The client was impressed with the final explainer video, praising its ability to effectively communicate their message. They promptly shared the video across their various platforms, confident that it would connect with their target audience.
