Project Type: Character Design + Pose Sheets Deliverables: Final character sheets + multiple action and lifestyle poses for each character + paired poses

For this project, I created two original, story-ready characters in a warm, clean children’s illustration style: Sammy and Cindy. The goal was to design characters that feel instantly likeable, clearly recognizable, and consistent across multiple poses,ready to be used in story scenes, marketing visuals, or future illustrations.

The characters needed to:

Look friendly and engaging for a children’s audience

Have strong silhouettes and clear personality

Stay consistent across different actions (same proportions, colors, and line style)

Include a variety of poses to support storytelling and future use

I designed a cohesive character duo with distinct personalities and outfit styling:

Sammy was designed as confident and adventurous. His outfit and overall styling communicate action and exploration, with details that support a “leader” vibe and make him feel energetic and bold.

Cindy was designed as smart, warm, and adventurous. Her outfit and accessories reflect a practical, ready-for-anything character, making her the perfect counterpart to Sammy while still feeling unique.

Concept & Personality Definition I defined the role, personality, and “feel” of each character before finalizing shapes and styling.

Silhouette & Shape Language I focused on strong, readable silhouettes so the characters remain recognizable even at small sizes.

Clean Linework & Color Harmony I used consistent line weight and a natural, warm palette to keep the designs cohesive and children’s-book friendly.

Pose Development for Real Use I created a pose library so the characters can be used immediately in multiple scenes without redesigning them.

The final output is a production-ready character pack: a consistent, clean, and expressive duo with pose variations designed for storytelling. These characters are ready to be used in children’s book pages, posters, educational content, branding/mascot use, and future scene illustrations.
