Project Summary

I planned, built, and sent a Kit (ConvertKit) email broadcast to promote freelance services and generate inquiries from an existing audience. The objective was to deliver a clear, conversion-friendly email that looks clean across devices, reaches the right subscribers, and produces measurable engagement data that can be used to improve future campaigns.

Goals

Pr/omote services in a way that feels helpful (not spammy)
Ensure the email is readable and structured for quick scanning
Send only to the correct audience segment
Track key performance metrics (deliverability + engagement)
Create a repeatable broadcast workflow for future promotions

Approach & Strategy

1) Message Planning (before building in Kit)

I structured the email using a simple framework:
Hook / context: Why I’m reaching out
Offer: What I can help with (short + specific)
Proof / credibility: Brief experience + examples (kept light to avoid clutter)
CTA: One clear action (reply or click)
Close: Friendly and professional
This structure helps avoid long blocks of text and keeps the email “skimmable,” which is critical for mobile readers.

2) Audience Targeting & List Hygiene

Before sending, I ensured the broadcast was aimed at the correct audience:
Selected the intended subscriber segment (avoid sending to irrelevant contacts)
Checked segmentation logic to reduce “wrong person” sends
Confirmed the list was active and engagement-ready (basic list health check)
The goal here is to protect sender's reputation and maintain strong deliverability over time.

3) Build & Formatting in Kit

Inside Kit, I set up the broadcast and validated the layout:
Clean formatting with short paragraphs and clear spacing
Simple hierarchy (headline → value points → CTA)
Checked readability on both desktop and mobile
Ensured links/CTA placement is visible without excessive scrolling
Final proofread for clarity and tone consistency

4) Send + Performance Review

After sending, I reviewed campaign performance to capture learning for the next broadcast:
Confirmed the campaign was delivered successfully
Tracked engagement signals (opens, click behavior where applicable)
Used results to identify what worked (subject line relevance, message clarity, audience interest)

Results

Total recipients: 331
Open rate: 34.7%
Broadcast delivered successfully and produced clear performance data that can be used to refine:
subject line style
email length/structure
CTA positioning
audience segmentation strategy
