Education platforms generate a lot of data — student progress, engagement rates, completion metrics — but most dashboards bury it in tables that only analysts can parse. The goal here was to make that data useful for teachers and administrators who don't have time to dig.
Design Approach
Started with an audit of the existing data structure to understand which metrics actually drove decisions. Stripped back the information hierarchy to surface the 3-4 numbers that mattered most per user role, then built supporting views for deeper exploration.
Used progressive disclosure to keep the default view clean while still giving power users access to granular data without switching tools.
Key Design Decisions
Role-based dashboard views (teacher vs. administrator vs. student)
Data visualization components built as a reusable Figma library
Color system designed for accessibility — all charts pass WCAG AA contrast
Responsive layout that works on both desktop and tablet
A data-heavy analytics dashboard designed for an education platform, focused on making complex metrics readable and actionable for non-technical users.
