Job boards are a crowded space. The brief was to design a platform that felt less like a form-filling exercise and more like a tool people actually wanted to use — for both sides of the hiring equation.
Design Approach
Mapped out two distinct user journeys: employers posting roles and candidates browsing and applying. The flows needed to feel connected but serve very different mental models.
Used FigJam for early journey mapping and whiteboarding sessions, then moved into Figma for wireframes and high-fidelity UI. Miro was used for stakeholder alignment on information architecture before committing to screens.
Key Design Decisions
Dual-sided dashboard: employer view vs. candidate view with role-based navigation
Streamlined job posting flow reduced from 12 steps to 5 without losing required fields
Candidate profile cards designed for quick scanning — recruiters can assess fit in under 10 seconds
Notification and messaging system designed to reduce drop-off during the application process
