Cryptonary Brand Identity Guidelines

Cryptonary is a globally trusted crypto research platform, relied on by hundreds of thousands of investors and traders who demand clarity, insight, and professional presentation. My assignment was to create a cohesive visual identity and design system that supports their position as a credible, modern authority in a fast-moving industry.

Understanding the Challenge

In the crypto space, visual identities often veer into extremes - either overly futuristic & chaotic or bland and generic. Cryptonary needed something that communicated credibility, clarity, and modern finance-tech energy. The goal was to design a system that works across everything from social posts to YouTube thumbnails to paid-ad creatives and email signatures.

Visual Identity Components

Here is what I developed:
Logo: A clear, memorable mark that embodies Cryptonary’s investigative, data-focused purpose.
Font Usage: A typography guideline specifying primary and secondary typefaces, usage across headings, body copy, digital interfaces, and print.
Color Palette & Usage: A robust system of primary and secondary brand colors, accent tones, usage examples, and digital/print safe variations.
Background Patterns: Subtle abstract patterns inspired by data flows, charts, and networks - a way to visually reinforce the research/data positioning.
Social Media Requirements & Direction: Templates and visual rules for profile images, cover banners, post formats, story layouts - designed for recognizability and brand coherence.
Meta Platform Ads & Creative Samples: Specific formats, safe zones, call-to-action treatments and sample ad creatives for Facebook/Instagram (Meta) to help scale paid campaigns from day one.
YouTube Video Thumbnail Layouts: Design guides for how thumbnails should look - composition, branding lock-ups, text hierarchy, pattern overlays—to maintain a consistent feed of branded videos.
Email Signature & UI Button Designs: Brand-aligned signature templates and UI components (buttons) for digital applications (newsletter, web app, etc.).

Process & Tools

The project used Adobe Illustrator for logo and pattern creation, Adobe Photoshop for mock-ups and thumbnail design, Adobe InDesign for the brand book layout, and Figma for social media templates and UI component collaboration. This multi-tool workflow allowed for scale, cross-platform consistency, and easy hand-off to developers and marketing teams.
