About the Client
Midddleman is an AI-powered procurement platform that helps businesses source products directly from China. Founded by Adeola Owosho, Midddleman removes the language and usability wall that stops most businesses from accessing 1688, the world's largest wholesale marketplace. What was once a frustrating, translator-dependent process is now as simple as pasting a link.
Goal
Turn a raw 1688 product link into a fully translated, AI-powered procurement experience any business owner could use confidently, without a sourcing agent, without Google Translate, and without leaving the platform.
Challenges
1688 is built entirely for native Chinese speakers. Listings in Mandarin. Navigation that assumes fluency. No way to ask questions about a product. Businesses were making real purchasing decisions on broken translations and incomplete information. Sourcing agents were the only workaround and they added cost without adding value.
Solution
Blueprint designed the full product experience and built the frontend and mobile application end to end. Paste a 1688 link, Midddleman handles the rest. Scraping, translation, and structuring product data into a clean, readable interface. A conversational AI layer sits inside every listing so buyers can ask questions directly. A native marketplace was added for users who do not start with a link. The public launch website was also designed and built by Blueprint.
