Social Media Design & Content Strategy to @ismaybooks (Bookstagram)

Client: @ismaybooks – Personal Brand for Literary Content.
Duration: March 2025.
Role: Social Media Manager, Content Designer, Visual Storytelling Consultant.
Main Platform: Instagram.
Tools: Canva, Notion, CapCut.

Problem

May (creator of @ismaybooks) wanted to start taking her literary profile seriously, but felt lost amid so many ideas, without a clear design or content structure that would help her grow and connect with her community of readers.
She was looking for:
A coherent and memorable visual identity.
Emotional but also informative content.
A strategy that would allow her to remain consistent without burning out.

The Process:

1. Initial audit and definition of objectives: We identified strengths and opportunities within the current content and agreed on an emotional-literary approach with a soft, feminine, and dreamy aesthetic.
2. Visual Identity Design:
Lilac and pastel palette
Serif and handwritten fonts to maintain a cozy and artistic vibe
Visual elements such as stickers, Polaroid frames, torn textures, and doodles
Composition of harmonious and savable carousels
3. Content planning by sections:
Monthly reading wrap-up
Thematic lists: characters, favorite books, playlists
Connection post: personal introduction, interviews, reasons to read their story
Interactive content: surveys, questions, reflections
4. Organization and consistency:
Notion calendar with weekly ideas
Piece design in Canva for easy replication
Programming with Meta Business Suite

The Product:

Feed with a coherent, attractive, and professional visual design.
Carousels with connecting storytelling: from favorite characters to book playlists.
Content Emotional, informative, and aesthetically consistent with May's brand.
Featured examples:
“5 Reasons to Read My Story”
“Interview with Myself”
“March Wrap-Up”
“My Favorite Romance Books”

Results:

+35% increase in interactions (likes, comments, and saves) in less than 30 days.
Greater follower retention thanks to clear aesthetics and shareable content.
Recognition among similar accounts, which began sharing and recommending the profile.
Motivation and creative consistency on the part of the creator, who was able to plan without becoming overwhelmed.

Conclusion:

This project reflects how a personal profile, when worked on with intention, can become an authentic brand. The balance between aesthetics, strategy, and emotionality is what connects with the audience and creates a community.
