Cetus Gaming is a tournament management platform designed to help esports communities, gaming organizers, and sports event managers organize competitions without relying on spreadsheets, scattered messages, or manual workflows.
I worked on the product experience and the website, translating the needs of tournament organizers into a more structured digital experience. I also built the marketing website in WordPress, creating a clear entry point for users to understand the platform, explore its features, and get started.
The goal was to make tournament management more accessible while presenting Cetus Gaming as a practical, easy-to-use solution for organizing competitions.
The Challenge
Organizing a tournament involves more than creating a bracket. Organizers need to manage participants, coordinate teams, communicate schedules, track results, and keep the competition running smoothly.
For smaller esports communities and independent organizers, these tasks are often handled through spreadsheets, Discord messages, and disconnected tools.
The challenge was to communicate the value of a dedicated tournament management platform while making its features easy to understand and its onboarding experience approachable.
The website needed to answer three important questions:
What is Cetus Gaming?
How does it simplify tournament management?
How can organizers start using it?
My Approach
I approached the project from both a product design and web development perspective, focusing on usability, product positioning, and a consistent experience between the marketing website and the application.
Clear Product Positioning
I structured the website around the main problem Cetus Gaming solves: making tournament organization easier.
Instead of presenting the platform as just another bracket generator, the messaging focuses on the broader workflow of running a competition, from setting up a tournament to managing participants and tracking results.
The objective was to help potential users understand the product's practical value before exploring individual features.
Feature-Driven Product Storytelling
I organized the content around the platform's core capabilities, including:
Tournament creation and management
Participant and team registration
Tournament brackets and competition formats
Scheduling and results management
Automated winner certificates
AI-assisted tournament creation
This structure helps users connect individual features to the tasks they need to accomplish when organizing a competition.
Conversion-Focused Website Structure
I designed the marketing experience to guide visitors through a clear journey:
Understanding → Exploring → Evaluating → Getting Started
The website includes dedicated sections for the product, features, pricing, sports, and educational content. Each section serves a specific purpose, helping visitors understand the platform, evaluate its capabilities, and find the next step.
I also considered SEO and content discoverability as part of the website structure, rather than treating them as separate tasks.
UI/UX Design
The design approach balances the energetic nature of gaming and esports with the clarity expected from a modern SaaS product.
I focused on:
Clear visual hierarchy and scannable content
Consistent typography and interface elements
Product-focused visuals that explain functionality
Clear calls to action
Responsive layouts for different screen sizes
A visual direction aligned with the gaming and esports audience
The goal was to create an experience that feels engaging without sacrificing usability or clarity.
WordPress Development
After defining the website structure and visual direction, I implemented the marketing website in WordPress using Elementor and Blocksy, complemented by custom CSS and interactive elements where needed.
My focus was to translate the intended design into a functional, responsive website while maintaining consistency across pages.
The implementation included:
Responsive page layouts
Reusable design patterns and content sections
Custom styling and interface refinements
Product and pricing pages
Blog structure and SEO-focused content
Clear navigation and conversion paths
I used WordPress to make the marketing website easier to maintain and expand as the product and its content evolve.
The marketing website and the main application serve different purposes: WordPress supports product discovery and acquisition, while the application provides the tools users need to manage their tournaments.
Solution
The result is a marketing website built to communicate the value of Cetus Gaming as a tournament management SaaS platform.
By combining product thinking, UI/UX design, content structure, and WordPress development, I created a cohesive experience that connects the product's capabilities with the needs of its target audience.
The project demonstrates my ability to work beyond the visual interface: understanding a product's purpose, structuring its experience, communicating its value, and bringing the design to life through implementation.
