When they hurt enough, they have to.

I was sick an tired of being 40+ pounds overweight. My cardio health limited me in my everyday life. I made a decision to change who I was.

I was sick and tired of seeing companies not connecting their vision to their execution. I was sick and tired of teams not believing what they are building and selling. I made another decision that I was going to be the person to change this in the industry.

Leadership starts with your belief and a big vision.

I first learned how to create a product vision from the previous Head of Product at LinkedIn Sales Navigator when I joined Reforge. Back then, it was an invite-only education company for product and tech teams.

A vision isn't enough. It needs to be big enough to fit your dreams, and your teams' dreams. You need to believe in it.
The media brainwashes us to be scared. I learned how to brainwash myself to believe I can do anything.

When they see enough they're inspired to.

Creating a level of conviction of a big vision invites people to follow you. This is when you introduce coaching and accountability to create momentum around advancing skills and knowledge. Leaders have to be the example, change starts from the leader.
Taking what I've learned from product management is my favourite type of roadmap: Now, Next, Later. I applied this same roadmap to coaching, accountability, maintaining momentum and progress, daily and weekly.

When they learn enough, they want to.

At this point momentum is self-sustaining. Team confidence builds like nothing you've ever seen.

When they receive enough, they are able to.

When you align a group of people around a vision, design a routine to lead and help them through a season of change, it creates an environment of growth, fulfills everyone with a new sense of purpose, and completely transforms everybody forever.
Take Kevin as an example. He joined as a Junior Product Designer only being familiar with Figma. In less than 1 year he now knows Figma like the back of his hand, creating screens and components, helping pioneer an AI design to code workflow, always considering and applying cognitive biases in his UX designs, and leading junior designers.

It more than just Kevin, I've helped transform Leon from having no experience in development to learning how to build software, build his business, and land new developer opportunities.
I've also transformed Lucas who believed he had to stay a frontend developer before becoming a backend developer. I've helped him develop his backend skills and ultimately transformed him into a full stack developer in less than 1 year.
Or Hetvi who couldn't see path to break into tech as a immigrant in Canada. I brought her into our growth environment, helped develop her skills, and she landed a tech role she only dreamed of in 3 months.

She's not the only international talent, I've transformed. There's also Ahmad who's also never worked for a tech company before. Since working with me he's been accepted into a prestigious startup accelerator in Indonesia sponsored by Google, Gojek, Tokopedia, and Traveloka. Now, he's the one, transforming more developers in Indonesia.
And that's just to name a few.
This is the power of leadership, and I know the world needs, and is hungry for more of it. The standards are too low, and it's not only your team that suffers, but your business and customers do too. It's time we change that.
