Having a daily routine can be a game changer for any mom. When it comes to staying organized, having a set plan for your day, can make a world of a difference especially when it comes to keeping track of your day. A routine not only helps you keep up with your daily tasks but it can also help bring a sense of order amidst the daily chaos. A messy environment can easily throw the best of us off. Not only do you have to pause and try to fit time to pick up, declutter and wipe things down in your already busy and hectic schedule but on top of that you have your regular house maintenance cleaning. A good way to eliminate some of the stress and pressure to keep up with your household is implementing a pickup as you go method for the entire family. For example:

Each dish rinsed and put into dishwasher
Toys put away before nap and bedtime

3. Meal Prep and Planning: Organization that alleviates you
Cooking every day just isn't realistic for any mom let alone a working mom and buy meals more than once or twice a week can really put a strain on the bank account so what's our next solution? Why meal prep of course! Meal planning can significantly reduce the stress and hassle of creating and cooking meals daily while also helping you stay organized throughout the week. Set aside time each week—like Sunday afternoon—to plan out your meals for the week. Write down what you’ll be cooking and create a grocery list based on those meals. Easy peasy.
4. Implementing a Family Calendar
It can be hard, keeping track of everything and everyone in your household, especially when everyone looks to you to be the main harbinger of information. Implementing and keeping a family calendar to stay up-to-date on each family members activities, schedules, and appointments can really help set you up for success. Go ahead and choose a system that works for you, whether it’s a wall calendar that everyone can see or a shared digital calendar that you and your partner share. Keeping track of everyone’s activities can be a horrifying task—school events, doctor’s appointments, sports practices, playdates, and so much more. Alleviate your stress by having it all accessible and have a day at the beginning of each week to go over them.
5. Delegating Household Responsibilities
While everyone else in your family might feel like you're superwoman and that you can do and be everywhere all at once that's just not the case and that is ok. As moms we often feel a sense of responsibility to complete every task and get everything done ourselves but that can often lead us up to the edge of burnout. It often feels like we're carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders with these expectations, but it's important to remember that you do not have to do it all alone. Delegating tasks to the members in your household is a great way to stay organized and give yourself a break. Give age-appropriate chores to your kids. Even your younger children can help with simple tasks like picking up toys or helping set the table. Older children can take on more responsibility, like folding laundry or tidying their rooms. If you have a partner, make sure you divide household tasks evenly. Regularly check in with each other to ensure things are balanced and no one is feeling overwhelmed. When you delegate, let go of the need for perfection no one is going to do them exactly how you like. The important thing is that it gets done!
Staying organized as a mom is no easy thing but with the right strategies and some help, it can get done. Use your resources and the people around you to make life more manageable by creating some of the things that we talked about like a family calendar/planner, picking up around the house regularly, creating a daily routine, meal prepping and delegating to your household. Remember, it’s all about finding what works best for you and your family, and it’s okay to adjust along the way. With a bit of planning and patience, you’ll be well on your way to a more organized and less stressful life!
