Turning Vision into Reality: An Experimental F&B Startup Success Story (2021)

Conception
In 2021, I identified a unique opportunity to create an experimental Proof of Concept (POC) for an F&B startup. Leveraging my extensive experience across diverse business verticals, I developed a comprehensive business plan to bring the concept to life. Remarkably, I executed this entrepreneurial venture while maintaining a full-time, 9-to-5 job, demonstrating my ability to balance and excel in parallel responsibilities.
The Product
Offering: Gourmet sliders (small burgers), crafted for flavor and variety.
Venue: The vibrant Goa Collective Bazaar, a bustling hub for locals and tourists alike.
Frequency: Every Friday.
Target Audience: Tourists and local foreigner residents seeking a unique culinary experience.
Branding
I single-handedly built a memorable brand from the ground up, meticulously crafting every element to resonate with the audience and stand out in a competitive market.
Brand Identity: Conceptualized an evocative brand name, story, and logo that embodied the startup’s ethos.
Brand Assets: Designed all necessary event collaterals, including stall banners, menus, stickers, and other visual elements, ensuring cohesive and professional branding.
Digital Presence
Social Media: Launched and managed an Instagram page to promote the brand.
Created visually engaging posts, wrote compelling copy, and executed a consistent posting schedule to engage the target audience and build buzz around the product.
Execution
From planning to operations, I managed every aspect of the food stall:
Curated a delicious and varied menu.
Sourced high-quality ingredients.
Oversaw stall setup, including layout, branding, and logistics.
Handled mise en place and cooked for over 300 customers during event hours (4 PM to 2 AM).
Results
Achieved sold-out status in 3 of 4 events, validating the POC and highlighting my ability to execute end-to-end business operations seamlessly.
Gained valuable insights into brand creation, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Although the third wave of COVID-19 led to the discontinuation of the venture, this experience remains a testament to my creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial acumen. It underscored my ability to ideate, build, and execute a business from scratch while balancing professional commitments.
