In this episode I was tasked with making 2D animated sequences with several main figures: The Chicago gangster and race fan Mike Boyle and his protege, the Indy 500 champion Wilbur Shaw. Because the events in this story was set in the 1930s, I was specifically asked to make artwork very reminiscent of vintage American newspaper strips, specifically those of "Dick Tracy", which is why many of the textures and clothing are very basic and the eyes are just black dots on flesh. I supplied the 2D reels, while the 3D layouts were done by another person in the team.
Below, check out the best-of reel of my animations for the episode!
