Client: A startup specializing in travel-related merchandise (customizable maps, travel journals, and adventure gear).

Project Overview

The client sought a Shopify storefront to sell travel-themed products that would appeal to adventure seekers and gift buyers. The goal was to create a visually immersive and user-friendly platform that reflected the spirit of exploration while driving conversions.

Design a visually appealing Shopify store with a travel-inspired theme.
Implement a smooth user journey from browsing to checkout.
Increase product discoverability and boost conversion rates through strategic product presentation and optimized CTAs.
Integrate a content-driven blog to enhance brand storytelling and improve SEO performance.

My process

1. Discovery and Ideation

Collaborated with the client to define the brand's tone as adventurous, inspiring, and authentic.
Analyzed competitor stores (e.g., travel gear retailers and personalized gift shops) to identify strengths and weaknesses in their UX/UI.
Mapped the customer journey to address potential pain points, focusing on minimizing cart abandonment and improving searchability.

2. Visual Design and Branding

Designed a homepage with a full-width hero banner featuring captivating travel imagery, overlayed with the tagline:
Developed a color palette inspired by natural elements (sand, sky blue, and forest green).
Created custom icons for product categories, enhancing the store’s navigation.

3. Product pages & Description

Crafted detailed product descriptions using a problem-agitation-solution framework:
Problem: "Missing out on memories is easy when you're caught up in adventure."
Agitation: "A blank page tells no story, but your travels deserve more than fleeting thoughts."
Solution: "Capture every moment with our handcrafted travel journal, designed for durability and reflection on the go."
Added customer reviews and trust badges to boost credibility and encourage purchases.

4. Checkout and Conversion Enhancements

Integrated a one-page checkout to reduce friction and cart abandonment.
Highlighted free shipping for orders over a specific threshold with dynamic progress bars.

Achievements
