On two occasions, I was engaged to design labels for a homemade chilli sauces.

For the LIU家 XO Sauce, the project started when Mr Liu shared jars of XO sauce to family and friends each time he made a batch for home.  As a lucky recipient of the sauce and as the tradition continued, we thought it would be helpful to label each batch considering the spice levels would change.

Since this audience was family and friends, limited information was required. Besides Mr Liu’s iconic friendly face, only the spice level and date of making was needed.

When I was approached for Schneider’s Chilli, the brief was direct but again simple.  The goal was to incorporate the family emblem into a logo for their family’s Chilli. The sauce was to be sold at a friendly neighbourhood market so only the ingredients and used by date was required. for details.
