Sorana Island Villas is an exquisite 4-bedroom luxury rental nestled in the serene beauty of Bantayan Island in Cebu City, Philippines. It offers a private retreat where guests can enjoy the beauty of their own slice of paradise. The resort's name, "Sorana," pays homage to the stunning sunrise that illuminates the island, creating a mesmerizing summer sky.
Offering a haven for relaxation, exclusivity, and an island-living experience, Sorana Island Villas invites guests to feel at home, unwind, and create lasting memories in a safe and private environment that embodies the essence of paradise.
The client reached out to have their visual identity designed. The objectives of the project are to have clear brand recognition, to be able to connect to the audience better and to stand out from the competition.
The design direction for the brand was identified by getting to know more about the brand's story, vision & mission, values, goals, personality, target market, and even its competitors. Furthermore, I also researched the industry, its market, and its competitors to further understand how they can stand out from the competition and what design decisions can be made to achieve our goals.
The design direction for this brand highlights the luxurious, private, and elegant nature of the business while still making it welcoming and cozy as it targets families or large groups for an exclusive and relaxing experience. The business wants the guests to feel safe and at home at Sorana; ultimately where they can relax and unwind comfortably.
The chosen colors are vibrant colors that still look premium. They are anchored by the island’s vibrant culture as well as the brand’s exclusive nature. These colors are inspired by the colors of “paradise” that connects us to nature making the brand feel and look more comfortable and close to home.
Meanwhile, the typography pairings chosen are minimal, modern, and easy to read yet still elegant and classy. These elements of the brand identity are also responsible for how the brand will be able to connect with the target market.
The customized icons and patterns show off the different natural elements that surround the brand. They are carefully designed to represent both their physical being and how they connect to the brand as representations of the brand’s purpose and what it values. The icons also match well with the tiles that are used all over the villas.
I also provided the client with directions on photography that would match their branding. The photos lean toward warm and cozy showcasing both the aesthetically pleasing rental but also the beautiful nature that surrounds it.
