Role: Digital Experience Designer & Wix Studio Developer | October 2024–October 2025; main website built in two months and finalised by February 2025
I independently designed and built the International School of Bologna’s 31-page Wix Studio website in English and Italian. The site connects admissions, careers and school information with content tools the team can maintain, supported by more than 100 CMS-managed items.

CLEAR ROUTES FOR DIFFERENT AUDIENCES
Prospective parents, current families, teachers and job applicants needed different paths through a large site. I kept the useful information hierarchy from the previous Wix Classic website and redesigned navigation: a grouped mega menu on desktop and an accordion on mobile.

I retained the logo and core colours while introducing updated typography, gradients, larger photography and reusable sections. Navigation, content order, spacing and image crops were adjusted for mobile. ISB supplied the Italian translations; I implemented both languages.

CONTENT THE SCHOOL CAN MANAGE
Structured CMS collections support staff information and vacancies. Wix Blog handles articles and Wix Events handles events and registration. This separates recurring content updates from page design.

CONNECT A VACANCY TO ITS APPLICATION
I created the careers data structure, listing and dynamic vacancy pages, then connected role details to the application form and email communication through Velo. Applications notify the school and acknowledge the candidate.
I defined the workflow and interface and used ChatGPT as coding support for advanced Velo work. I implemented and tested the final system myself, with no separate web developer.

OPEN DAY REGISTRATION THROUGH TO REMINDERS
I connected the Open Day landing page with Wix Events, a custom registration form and automated confirmation and reminder emails. Admissions receives the registration details, joining the public experience to the team following up.

MIGRATION AND A CONSISTENT COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
I carried over metadata and images, added redirects where needed and checked indexing in Search Console. Responsive layouts, forms, emails and analytics were tested before launch. The main website took two months to build, with continued support during the wider engagement.
I extended the visual language into a 42-page school brochure, High School Profile, fees brochure, calendar, staff cards and animated Figma presentations. These additional materials were produced in English.

WHAT CHANGED FOR THE TEAM
ISB’s marketing team reported less manual work when updating vacancies and easier staff-information management, including updates by phone. These are reported operational improvements; the page and CMS counts describe delivered scope, not traffic or conversion performance.
I owned structure, UX/UI, development, testing and launch. Riccardo Testoni, Janecke Aarnaes and the ISB marketing team supplied school information, copy, translations and photography.
