My role: Personal project | Creative direction, UX/UI & implementation
I designed and implemented my portfolio to show work across creative direction, ecommerce, digital products and business systems. The challenge was to make that range clear while giving visitors evidence of my contribution and a direct route into a conversation.
A visual overview assembled from current portfolio captures and presentation mockups, showing the work, About page and call-booking experience.
Lead with project evidence
Selected work opens into individually authored case studies with scope, design decisions and supporting media. The Work archive, About page and collaborator recommendations offer other routes into the practice. I designed the information architecture around those different reading needs.
Selected work uses an editorial layout to pair the project image with its context and a direct case-study link.
Mobile case-study reading: chapter navigation, project narrative and supporting imagery remain available in the responsive layout.
Use motion to express one identity
The visual system pairs my original yellow with matte charcoal and paper reading surfaces. A shared stationary yellow-and-paper heading wipe gives the pages a recognisable transition. Responsive layouts, native scrolling, keyboard access and reduced-motion fallbacks keep the content and controls available.
Mobile homepage: the opening composition, readable introduction and primary actions adapt to a narrow screen.
Keep content editable behind a custom front end
I built the front end with Astro, TypeScript and CSS and deployed it on Vercel. Wix supplies a headless content and business layer, while the case-study layouts remain individually authored.
Structured collections supply project media, archive entries, FAQs and testimonials. Local content fallbacks keep the site readable if a content request fails. This allows ongoing content updates alongside the custom interface.
The About page carries the same charcoal, yellow and typography into a clear introduction and professional story.
Bring booking into the site
The enquiry form and custom 25-minute call calendar use the portfolio’s visual system. Visitors see real Wix availability in Europe/Berlin time, choose a slot and enter their details.
The booking flow includes confirmation and owner notifications. End-to-end verification covered the booking and email delivery. An email alternative remains available when the calendar or connection is unavailable. I owned the direction, UX/UI and implementation of this personal project.
The custom calendar shows real Wix availability in Europe/Berlin time alongside the existing booking fields.
