Overview

Wego Inspect is a real estate platform that not only connects potential tenants to agents but also provides detailed home inspection reports, helping users make informed purchase or rental decisions. It eliminates the need for multiple property visits, reduces frustration from dishonest agents, and saves time and resources during house hunting.

Team & Role

I worked alongside a team of three designers, three developers, a CTO, and a project manager. My role involved conducting competitor audits and designing two mobile apps—one for inspectors and one for agents.

Result

We successfully developed a suite of products that delivered solutions to tenants while keeping all stakeholders connected and supported through the platform’s back end. This included a web app for end users, mobile apps for inspectors and agents, and a backend dashboard for internal data processing.

Initial Research

Understanding that we were entering a mature industry with a unique offering, our research began with market analysis led by the project manager. I conducted competitor evaluations and UI audits of similar products.

Building The Mobile Apps

I started by designing two end-to-end user flows based on user stories and task flows provided by the project manager. We then integrated all four user flows into one comprehensive app architecture to ensure each sub-product functioned together seamlessly, which was especially beneficial to the CTO and developers.
Once this was approved, we rebranded the platform, created an extensive mood board and style guide, sketched wireframes, and built high-fidelity screens with an interactive prototype—all in Figma.

Key Design Decisions

Separate Apps for Agents and Inspectors: Due to a conflict of interest, agents could not also serve as inspectors, so we created distinct apps for each stakeholder.
Request Dispatch and Inspection Buttons: Since inspectors were to receive a physical orientation, we opted for a short and straightforward onboarding process within the app.
Upload Button Separation: We separated the photo and video upload buttons to address technical constraints.

Final Thoughts

This project expanded my design capabilities and deepened my understanding of aligning stakeholder needs with user needs through a simple yet effective UI. I’m proud of the results and look forward to the day when I can use this app to find a home myself.
