Wryt Post is like Hootsuite, but for corporate enterprises and their audiences. One of its investors approached us for a UI redesign. After reviewing the old UI, we were eager to take on the challenge.
The client had an internal CX and development team that defined features and functionalities, so we were tasked with redesigning the flow of each feature and creating the corresponding UIs only.
Team & Role
Working closely with my project manager, I served as the sole designer. My responsibilities included interpreting project requirements, creating the style guide, and redesigning all UIs.
Result
By the end of the project, we had successfully redesigned five core features, created over 17 new screens, and created countless UI components. Upon completion, the client reported that the internal team loved my work and would love to collaborate again in the future.
Each redesign sprint began with a meeting where the team presented the feature in detail, discussed their preferences, and provided recommendations. I documented everything discussed and used these directives to guide the design process.
Once the work for a sprint was completed, we sent the Figma file, received feedback, made revisions, and repeated the process. We were also granted full access to the current (now old) UI for reference.
Delivering Value as a UX Designer
Although the client primarily sought UI design expertise, I delivered additional value by subtly incorporating UX expertise. Confident in their internal team, they didn’t feel the need to consult me for UX input, but I made sure it was part of the package regardless. This approach ensured that the designs not only looked great but also functioned intuitively for the users.
Final Thoughts
This project taught me the importance of balancing UX advocacy with soft skills. Sometimes, we may not be able to fully push UX initiatives with clients focused on business goals. However, these moments serve as lessons to better arm ourselves with the ability to communicate the value of UX in future projects.
Ultimately, true UX maturity comes when we find ways to ensure that all product stakeholders—clients, users, and teams—win.

Redesigning the core features and creating new improved user experiences for Wryt Post
