Information portal (logo, UX/UI, frontend, WordPress)

Kanał 7 is an information portal covering socio-economic and political topics. The project included coming up with a:

— name for the portal

— designing a logo

— interface (UX/UI) for both desktop and mobile versions

— frontend development

— WordPress development

The Kanał 7 logo is based on a square grid measuring 7×7, consisting of 49 elements. It presents the number "7" inscribed in a square frame. The name "KANAŁ 7" uses the font "Proxima Nova". The logo is simple, expressive and easy to use on all media.

The website design is based on a 1290px grid, divided into 2, 3, 4 or 5 columns with 30px spacing. This allows for the construction of different tiling layouts depending on the need.

Tiles come in different versions. For example, a tile 1/4 of the page width can take the form of a regular news item (thumbnail and headline), a journalistic post (header with avatar and author), a social media post (post content) and a post without a thumbnail (report post or article without a photo). A 1/4 tile is 300 pixels wide, so when building an index based on it, we can place the most popular 300x250px ads in it.

A grid divisible by 5 is also divisible by 20. The width of the container with the article content is 11/20 of the page width. On the sides, there is space for columns 1/5 and 1/4 wide, which are intended for ads.

Building the entry index based on 1/5 width tiles gives a wider right advertising column (2/5 of the page width).

The index of report entries is also built on the same division. Short information, photos and films are presented in their entirety on the index. Longer articles on the topic of the report are presented as a fragment of the entry with a link to the whole.
