A travel guide into this beautiful and historical port city.
This beautiful port city is perfect for picnics, rooftop experiences, one of a kind smoothie shops, cafes, and (of course) ice cream. With all that in mind it can become a great location for a girls weekend, including a bachelorette party. And if you were looking for a beach weekend, Tybee Island is 30 min away from the city with great beachfront restaurants and cute beach shops. Here are recommended experiences for your weekend!
First, you need a place to stay. Hotels are fine for this trip but the amount of adorable Air B&bs in Savannah is uncountable. Anywhere near Forsyth Park and downtown would be ideal. Those locations are where the most events are happening if you wanna be close to the action and in walking distance. There're also tiny house experiences in the surrounding areas of Savannah for something more private. Either way, you can’t go wrong. This charming house near Forsyth Park can sleep you and three other girlfriends. It's also reasonably priced considering the location.

Hop on-off Trolley Tour: This is the best way to get around the city and still explore all it has to offer. The Old Town Trolley tours have 15 stops. Their lively and interactive trolley drivers give you a run-down of Savannah’s history as well as their own personal experiences from this city. Some of them are quite funny so you may get a laugh as well as a history lesson. If you are looking for a cute picnic experience with your girlfriends, there's a stop that drops you off at Reynolds Square with plenty of benches for you to sit. This picnic choice is great if you were looking to save money and pack a lunch. You will have to carry around a lunch box or small cooler on the trolley but it has been tried and tested so you will make it on. It's not as much hassle as you would think and is just like carrying around a larger purse.

One of a kind treasures: In today’s day and age, you wouldn’t think a smoothie place would be a rare find but Jalisco Fresh offers more than any other place around. They have deliciously fresh smoothies, Mexican street corn, as well as other Mexican treats. When visiting new cities, it's crucial to experience treasures like this to showcase all the city has to offer. You and your girlfriends can easily spend an hour here enjoying their tasty delicacies and conversation.
Rooftop experiences: Rooftop bars are a great time regardless of what the bar has to offer but Electric Moon Skytop Lounge and Moon Deck has an overview of the river, futuristic inside, and a slide outside. Located in the JW Merritt Hotel, this rooftop has the occasional live music to go with their unique cocktails and savory bites. On top of that the staff is incredibly friendly, making these girls night out even more fun!
Coffee Shops: Any downtown area is going to have a delightful choice of coffee shops and Savannah is in no short of them. Some are even accessible during the trolley tour mentioned earlier. These coffee shops can differ in aesthetics from dark and rustic to cute and french. If you're on the trolley tour, you're going to want to hit up Black Rifle Coffee. There's a short line for how popular this place is. After getting your coffee, you can take a stroll down the historic cobblestone street and peruse the shops. Now if you were looking for something that was still modern but a bit brighter, Origin Coffee Bar would be for you. You can sit down with a croissant on the couch or grab a coffee to go. A lunch friendly choice is going to be the Maribelle Cafe. It's right across the street from the Cathedral, which is also accessible from the trolley tour. This cafe is bright but is bringing in a more French-esque feel to it if you want a break from modern.
Ice Cream: I would like to preface that ice cream is great on any trip but is mandatory on a girls trip. Locally Made Savannah is a great place to stop for ice cream. Other than ice cream, they have all kinds of local treats as well as some souvenirs of Savannah. Because of all the great products this cute shop offers, it can be described as a hidden gem in Savannah. They have a soda shop as well as ice cream to compliment their 60s diner theme.
Tybee Island: If you didn't think Savannah gets any better you were wrong. Thirty minutes from the city is a beautiful beach on Tybee Island. There's a historical lighthouse with a museum and a coastal fort called Batter Garland. The best time to go here would be the afternoon towards dinner time. You can still enjoy the beach in the sunlight and grab a bite to eat as the night is winding down. Fannie's on the Beach has an open deck seating that is great to catch the sunset and serve fresh shrimp tacos. Tybee also has beach shops in case you forgot any of your beach gear or even wanted some souvenirs. Make sure you take a walk on the pier before you leave.
Each one of these attractions and shops make Savannah truly a unique and an alluring place to visit. This variety of hot spots will never leave you with a dull moment in your girls weekend. And in your travels, you may even find some hidden gems of your own. Surely, after your trip to Savannah, you will all have had enough fun to want to come back on your next girls trip.
