B-side collaborative platform

B-side is a collaborative platform developed by Saint-Gobain's for their brand Point.P.

Project Overview

B-side is a collaborative platform developed by Saint-Gobain's for their brand Point.P. The primary objective of B-side is to centralize tools, applications, and information for the employees across all outlets of the Point P brand. The platform serves multiple functions: Top-Down Communication: From Saint-Gobain headquarters to Point P branches, including live broadcasts, video presentations, press releases, and an intranet. Learning Platform: Employee training on new management tools through tutorials and webinars. Bottom-Up Communication: Enabling collaboration among different retail locations to share local information through forums and sharing best practices.
What Is POINT.P & Saint-Gobain? POINT.P operates under Saint-Gobain Distribution Bâtiment France, formerly known as Groupe Point.P. As a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain Group, it is a leading company in the distribution of construction materials, primarily serving professionals. The brand boasts over 1,000 sales points and 11,500 collaborators in France, making it the foremost multi-channel distribution network in the French market.

Pain Points

The primary challenges addressed by the B-side platform include: Fragmented communication channels within the organization. Inconsistent access to training and development resources for new and existing tools. Limited interaction and knowledge sharing among employees across different locations.

Design Process

I led the design process for the B-side platform at Point P, a strategic initiative to enhance internal communications and operational efficiency through a well-integrated digital solution. The project demanded a collaborative and iterative approach, involving various stakeholders to ensure the platform not not only aligned with the needs of the SAINT-GOBAIN company, but also effectively met the needs of end-users located in Point P distribution outlets.
Research and Analysis: Conducted workshops and interviews to gather stakeholder needs. Centralized and analyzed data using projects board on Miro.
Defining Objectives: Developed a customer journey through co-creation workshops.
Design: Created a comprehensive design system. Developed wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. Conducted user testing workshops to refine the interface.
Integration and Interaction: Progressed through development phases with continual testing and feedback.
User Testing: Final validation included a client test panel and feedback collection before launch.
Deployment: The platform is being rolled out phase by phase (region by region) to gather initial feedback before full roll-out.

Conclusion

The B-side platform has significantly strengthened communication, coordination and information reliability within Saint-gobain and Point P. Post-launch, innovative features such as a blog, e-learning modules and an intranet document space have improved workflow and boosted engagement. The platform now plays an essential role in the daily lives of Point P shop employees.
