Nexes: Education Web App

Traditional learning management systems suffer from low engagement and high drop-off rates because they ignore how students actually study. Nexus bridges this gap by merging university and personal courses into a single intuitive flow, transforming passive learning into an active daily habit.

One platform, two layers of content, institutional and personal.

🚀 The Challenge: Traditional Learning Management Systems (LMS) are passive and fragmented. Students struggle to balance official university curriculum with their personal study materials (PDFs, YouTube videos, personal notes), leading to low engagement and high drop-off rates.
💡 The Solution: Nexus, A university-grade LMS built around gamification, multi-format content management, and motivation by design. It seamlessly unifies institutional and personal content while using game mechanics to drive daily active retention.
🎯 The Business Model: Freemium SaaS designed to drive rapid organic adoption through a powerful free tier, paired with seamless contextual upselling to convert active users into Premium subscribers.

Designed with growth in mind

Every design decision traces back to a business objective, retention, conversion, adoption, or growth.

A motivational hub, not a menu

Designed to eliminate decision fatigue and drive daily retention using gamified elements above the fold.

Key UX Assets Built:

Core Stat Cards: Quick, scannable readouts for Learning Time, Game Time, Total XP, and Daily Streaks.
"Continue Where You Left Off" Banner: A one-click micro-action that immediately resumes the student's active lesson.
Daily Streaks Module: A visual week-strip with flame icons where missing a single day is immediately apparent, triggering behavioral accountability.

Two sources of content, one seamless library

The content library serves two distinct types of courses. University courses are provided by the institution structured, pre-built, and available automatically based on the student's enrollment. Personal courses are created by the student from their own uploaded material. Both live in the same library, organized under folders, with the same browsing and progress tracking experience.

Focused learning with full curriculum awareness

When students open a lesson, they need to consume content without losing their place in the curriculum. A persistent right-panel chapter navigator keeps the full course map visible while watching video — no navigation away required.

4 input modes, one unified flow

University learning material arrives in scattered formats. Nexus unifies all four inputs into a single, cohesive drag-and-drop workflow.

Supported Inputs:

Pre-formatted Files.
URL Links.
Audio Recordings.
Custom Rich-Text Notes.

Quizzes that feel like games, not tests

Replaced passive re-reading (low retention) with active recall gamification via a dedicated "Game Room" interface.

Key Interactive Features:

Timed quiz engine,
Contextual hint triggers.
Real-time progress bars.
Post-game breakdown analyzing exact areas of struggle.

Competitive accountability at course level

Without social comparison, maintaining motivation requires extraordinary willpower. The leaderboard shows your rank, weekly movement, and a top-3 podium filtered by course to avoid demoralizing new users.

Schedule-aware learning structure

Study sessions lack structure without visibility. The calendar syncs course lessons and Game Room sessions into a weekly view any item from any screen can be added in one tap via the slide panel.

Conversion without interruption

Zero Friction Upsells: The "Upgrade to Premium" trigger is permanently accessible via the sidebar navigation. It acts as a passive, constant visual reminder rather than an aggressive modal pop-up that interrupts the student's focus.
Clarity in Pricing: Designed a streamlined, transparent pricing layout showing 3 clear billing tiers and a high-emphasis "7-Day Free Trial" action button to lower the psychological barrier to checkout.

Academic identity in one place

Three profile tabs Overview, Games History, Certificates show who the user is, what they've accomplished, and what they've earned. Profile completion ring with a gentle CTA applies progress psychology to the profile itself. Certificates are downloadable visual cards tangible proof of mastery.
