Overview

Ototrack is a mobile-based digital timesheet application created to help logistics drivers record their working hours, routes, and daily activities more efficiently. By integrating RFID tagging for both driver and vehicle identification, the app automates data entry and ensures better accuracy in every operation. As the UI/UX Designer, I was responsible for defining user flows, creating the visual interface, and building a high-fidelity prototype in Figma.

The Problem

Before Ototrack was implemented, time tracking relied on paper forms. This process was slow, inconsistent, and often led to missing or inaccurate records. Through user research and workflow mapping, several key pain points were identified:
Drivers often forgot to log their shifts due to busy schedules.
Manual forms were difficult to fill out and prone to human error.
Navigation in previous systems lacked clarity and structure.
Supervisors had limited visibility and struggled to verify logs quickly.
These challenges resulted in inefficiency and reduced accuracy across the logistics process.

The Solution

The design process followed a user-centered approach that focused on simplicity, speed, and usability for drivers in the field.
Main improvements and design decisions:
Streamlined flow: A clear process from login, scan RFID, add activity, monitor, to viewing history.
RFID automation: Detects driver and vehicle automatically, reducing manual input.
Quick input form: Dropdown fields make data entry faster and easier while on the road.
Accessible interface: Large touch areas, high-contrast colors, and readable text for outdoor use.
Consistent navigation: Four-tab bottom menu (Home, Search, History, Profile) for predictable movement.
The visual language focuses on clarity, clean spacing, and strong color hierarchy, optimized for drivers who need to interact with the app quickly during their workday.

Results

The final prototype went through internal design validation and heuristic review to ensure clarity, efficiency, and consistency. Based on usability principles, the design is expected to:
Simplify time logging and reduce interaction steps.
Improve accuracy through RFID-based automation.
Provide better data visibility for operations teams.
Ototrack Mobile App delivers an intuitive and reliable experience for drivers, making time tracking faster, simpler, and more accurate.
