Kurvana: Brand Identity & Visual Production

Alfred Harris

Alfred Harris

I built the full brand identity and visual production system for Kurvana, a Southern California cannabis company. A brand that had to hold up across packaging, product photography, social content, and 3D visuals, not just look good once, but stay consistent no matter which channel it showed up in.

The Challenge

The hardest part wasn't any single deliverable, it was the range. Cannabis brands tend to accumulate visual debt fast: a logo here, a photo style there, a social aesthetic that quietly drifts from the packaging over time. Kurvana needed something that could absorb photography, 3D renders, motion, and social content without splintering into disconnected production tracks that each looked like a different brand.
Instead of solving each deliverable individually, I started at the identity level: logo, color, type, and a guideline system tight enough that every downstream asset had the same rules to follow, whether it was shot on camera or rendered in 3D.

One System, Every Output

Once the guidelines were locked, production became a matter of executing against them rather than improvising per asset. Photography and 3D rendering were used side by side depending on what each shot actually needed: real photography where texture and light mattered, 3D where flexibility and iteration speed mattered more. Both were built to sit in the same feed and still read as one brand.
That's the real difference between a one-off asset drop and an actual brand system: the output doesn't look like it came from 2 different pipelines, even though it did.

Built for Every Channel

The same asset system had to carry hero imagery for the website and a rolling social content calendar without turning into 2 separate production efforts. Locking the lighting, materials, and camera setups once per product meant the same source work could be reformatted across placements instead of rebuilt from scratch every time something shipped.
Client work.
