Introduction
FemFestID is a festival that celebrates and promotes the achievements of women and marginalized communities in Indonesia. The festival aims to raise awareness about issues related to gender, sexuality, and social justice, and to create a platform for marginalized voices to be heard. The festival includes a variety of events, such as film screenings, discussions, workshops, and performances, and is open to people of all genders, ages, and backgrounds. FemFestID is an important platform for promoting gender equality, challenging gender stereotypes, and amplifying the voices of women and marginalized communities in Indonesia.
My Responsibilities
I'm a moderator for short-film screenings focused on addressing social issues related to online gender-based violence. The event was conducted online, on Friday, November 26, 2021. Specifically, I oversee the screening of "My Clouded Mind" from Indonesia and "The Offensive Internet" from Malaysia. My role is to create a safe and inclusive online space for all event participants, ensuring that the event is a positive and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
What I do
Introducing speakers or performers and providing context about their background or topic.
Keeping the event on schedule and making sure that all speakers have the appropriate amount of time to speak.
Facilitated discussions and Q&A sessions with the directors and the audiences in English.
Enforcing rules and guidelines: responsible for enforcing the event's rules and guidelines, including its code of conduct, and taking appropriate action when necessary to ensure that participants are following these guidelines.
Providing translation for the Q&A sessions between the speakers and audiences, both from Indonesian to English and vice versa.
Providing a summary or conclusion at the end of the event.
