This might be one of the most fun projects we have worked on. We got to work with one of our best friends Trey McBride. Trey has been playing basketball his entire life and is a international professional basketball player. Trey came to us with the idea to start a basketball training organization. He really didn't know where to start so came to us for help. The only thing he knew was he wanted the name to be Gateway hoops, and he wanted a "sort of retro vibe".  below you will see the final logo deisgn and the website we deisgned for him.
Logo: When it came to the logo I wanted to go off the idea of Gateway but wanted more emphasis on basketball, so I thought what is the "gateway" to basketball and that is the hoop. That being said the logo is how you would see a basketball hoop and net from above and the key hole symbolizing the "gateway" into the hoop.
Type: When it came to the type Trey mentioned that he wanted a retro look so the typeography we went with was a very geometric retro type face as the main type and the secondary type wanted do something a little more "fun" with a very slim script like font that would compliment the main typeface.

Colors: The colors are never a difficult part in the branding process usually becasue people have colors in mind however Trey just said "work your magic" so after doing some research on retro style designs purple, blues, and red neons were very popular, but I did not want to mesh all those colors togeather for the project, because this project had to have a bold look. Instead I thought more about Trey and wanted the colors to link back to him. Knowing Trey I know that he loves the artist Prince, the LA Lakers and that Kobe Bryant is one of his favorite player so it felt necessary to use the color purple as the main color, and black as the seconday becasue it is bold, and Kobe was the "Black Mamba"
