About the Project
CloudLibrary, developed by bibliotheca, is a digital platform that streamlines the borrowing and reading of eBooks and audiobooks for library patrons. It offers an intuitive interface that allows users to browse, check out, and enjoy a vast collection of titles anywhere, anytime.
The Challenge
Libraries are continually seeking modern ways to engage their communities, especially as digital media consumption grows. Bibliotheca wanted a platform that would:
Simplify the discovery and borrowing process for diverse user demographics.
Optimize the user experience for seamless reading and listening.
Enhance accessibility features for patrons of all abilities.
Reflect a brand identity aligned with bibliotheca’s commitment to innovation in library solutions.
The Solution
I focused on UI/UX design for the patron-facing portion of CloudLibrary, ensuring the platform was both user-friendly and visually appealing. To achieve this, I:
Conducted user flow analyses to minimize steps between discovery and checkout.
Created wireframes and prototypes to test navigation patterns, ensuring clarity and ease of use.
Designed a clean, consistent interface that aligns with bibliotheca’s branding and boosts user confidence.
Emphasized responsive layouts, accommodating a variety of devices and screen sizes.
My Role & Contributions
Patron UI/UX Design:
Mapped patron user journeys (browsing, borrowing, reading/listening).
Developed intuitive navigation, clear calls to action, and easy access to account info.
Ensured ADA-compliant design best practices (font sizes, color contrasts, etc.).
Collaboration & Refinement:
Worked closely with bibliotheca’s product managers and developers to align technical feasibility with design goals.
Integrated feedback from user testing to refine interface elements for better readability and overall satisfaction.

My role in designing the patron-facing UI/UX helped ensure library users of all backgrounds and abilities can engage with content effortlessly, underscoring bibliotheca’s mission to make library resources universally accessible.
