Stanford Knight & Partners: Redesigning a website for an audience that reads everything before deciding

Product design for the website redesign of Vanuatu’s government-appointed citizenship agent.

Stanford Knight & Partners is the Master Agent appointed by the Government of Vanuatu for its citizenship by investment programmes. Their clients are families comparing programmes and agents, and a decision this size means reading carefully before trusting anyone with their documents.
The previous site was visually outdated, with low contrast and no real thought given to how its audience reads and compares. For a company asking for that level of trust, the site itself needed to earn it. The team rewrote the copy and structure, and I redesigned all 18 pages on desktop and mobile, with trust as the brief behind every detail: how the content reads, how clearly costs are shown, and how the site looks and behaves. Sofia Zeltser supported the project with a review of the homepage, where she proposed new sections, and of some of the other pages.

Shaping the content for reading

The copy covered everything this audience asks about. Laying it out, I looked for the places where reading slowed down and suggested changes there.
For example, on the Why Vanuatu page, two introductory sections covered the same ground. I merged them and pulled the key facts out of the paragraphs (years operating, countries, islands, languages) into stat cards. I also rewrote the hero subheadline so the page says what it’s about from the first line.

The cost calculator

The calculator was the most complex part of the site. It came with a detailed brief, and I designed the interface and every state, from empty to full breakdown, with a sticky total on mobile.

Two sections around it were paragraphs in the brief: costs outside the total, and why Stanford Knight’s pricing differs from other agents. For someone comparing agents, these decide whether they move forward, so I turned both into visuals: a step from citizenship approval to passport issuance, and two bars comparing a typical agent’s quote with Stanford Knight’s.

Prototyping the interactions

Some behaviour can’t be explained in static frames. I prototype interactions in code, using Claude, so development gets a working reference instead of reading motion from frames. I built them for the calculator (with the real pricing logic), the mobile menu, the headline reveals, section animations and the CIIP timeline. Handoff

The Figma file went with a design system of 147 tokens and 27 text styles, and desktop and mobile layouts for every page. Where a section needed more than the layout to explain it, like animations, scroll behaviour or breakpoints, I annotated it.

Outcome

All 18 pages were delivered on desktop and mobile, with coded prototypes for the key interactions. It was also the team’s first project with a dedicated UX designer, and the process changed how they saw that role:

Incredible attention to detail, smooth communication, and the consummate professional. It’s the first time we’ve used a UX designer properly in a project, and we really see the value in doing so. Thank you, Carol.
