Client: Toei Animation, via RedPeg
Role: UX/UI Design & Webflow Development
Timeline: May to August 2026
Live site: onepiece-fest.com
The brief
RedPeg needed a lightweight, informational hub for the event. The site had to:
Communicate event details, location and timeline clearly
Drive fans to the external ticket lottery
Showcase sponsor logos without distracting from the event
Be easy for Toei to own, manage and reuse in future years
The content was clear, but there was little visual direction for a universe as vast as One Piece.
The challenge
One Piece has over 25 years of story, hundreds of characters and countless iconic places. With little visual direction to start from, the biggest challenge was narrowing down: finding a look that felt true to the series while keeping the site simple and focused on the event.
Exploration
To ground the work in the series, I brought in designer Luana Magalhães to support the creative direction. Her knowledge of One Piece helped shape references and early ideas.
Look & feel explorations
We explored several directions before narrowing down: a bright sky with manga-style clouds, an old map and parchment world, bolder graphic compositions, and a minimal logo-led approach. Seeing them side by side helped us define what felt right for the event, and the map and parchment direction became the foundation of the final site.
Designer Sofia Zeltser joined to help shape broader design decisions and collaborated closely on key sections like the map and the speakers. With ongoing input from the RedPeg team, we landed on a direction approved by the client.
Evolving with the event
Event details kept coming in after the design was approved, so the site evolved alongside the event. We updated the hero to include the Cosm LA venue, dates and session times, simplified the map section, and after launch added an update popup and the full programming schedule, keeping everything consistent with the original design. Some Examples below
Outcome
The website served as the official hub for the event, guiding fans to the ticket lottery and later to the full programming. One Piece Fest received nearly 500,000 lottery entries for 7,000 tickets and sold out, becoming Toei Animation's largest One Piece experience outside Japan.
