More than a news aggregator. Copilot Discover lives across the Edge new tab page and Windows 11 Widgets board, using the power of Microsoft Copilot to serve personalized content that's free for everyone, adaptable to how you need it, and grounded in human expertise.
Our previous model
The original Edge new tab page was built around monetization, packed with content modules and ad placements. It drove short-term engagement, but the cluttered layout made it harder for users to focus, and ultimately hurt long-term retention.
Classic MSN on Edge
Classic MSN on Edge
The feed prioritized ad density and sponsored content over user intent, making every scroll feel like a negotiation.
This same approach carried into the reading experience, where the content users came for was buried under layers of noise.
Banner ads, sponsored blocks, and endless recommendations pulled attention away from the article itself.
The new satisfying experience
We reimagined the space with intentional hierarchy, breathing room, and editorial restraint, turning distraction into discovery.
First time run experience
The first thing new users see: a clear promise of smarter stories and fewer interruptions, with a direct path to personalize their feed.
Copilot Discover on Edge (Light Mode)
A cleaner feed built around what users actually care about. Live sports, stock watchlists, weather, and trending stories all surface naturally without competing for attention.

Gems: AI-curated stories
The core AI feature of Copilot Discover. When a topic is trending across multiple sources, Copilot synthesizes the coverage into a single, structured briefing with chapter navigation, source references, and key takeaways. Users get the full story without bouncing between tabs.
