The Swiss Association of Master Builders is an organization that represents the interests of the construction industry in Switzerland. Its tasks include the representation of interests, consultations and the negotiation of the national shell contracts.

The website of the Association of Master Builder was getting on in years and was difficult to manage. In addition, the content had grown historically, which meant that there was no longer an overview of what content was actually needed.

The first step was to put a stop to the proliferation of content and to develop a completely new structure. The new structure had to be clear so that external and internal stakeholders could find their desired content directly. In addition, certain content was to be made available only as registered content.

In a second step, the design was developed. Although the CI/CD of the Association of Master Builders had been completely developed, it lacked concrete guidelines for the web. Therefore, during the design phase, the CI/CD, which was geared towards print, had to be transferred to the web.

Due to the administrative size of the association, various internal stakeholders had to be involved. To get a better idea of the new website, a prototype was developed for each of the 6 departments.

In addition to the structure and design, technical hurdles had to be overcome. For example, it was clear from the beginning of the project that an SSO system should be built in. This serves to connect the external tools (CRM, store and website) at least login technically. Since certain content should only be made available to registered content, a solution also had to be created that allows individual content elements / modules on the website to be displayed only when a user has been identified as authorized.
