Redesigning a SaaS platform for legal professionals

ImpalAct is a SaaS platform designed for legal professionals, allowing them to view company histories and automatically generate legal documents. This service is particularly useful for administrative formalities, offering simplified management of legal documents and quick access to key data. However, the initial interface lacked modernity and presented complexities that impacted user efficiency. The redesign aimed to modernize the ergonomics while facilitating navigation to improve user experience and boost the productivity of legal professionals.

Business Goals

ImpalAct’s primary goal was to enhance the platform’s appeal to attract new users while retaining existing clients. A key focus was to increase the usage of the subscription service for document filing, a central feature of the SaaS.
By simplifying the user experience, ImpalAct aimed to boost subscriptions and encourage more frequent use of the service, thereby strengthening recurring revenue.

Challenges

The platform suffered from an outdated design that diminished the perceived efficiency of the SaaS.
Processes were complex, menus were unintuitive, and key information was difficult to locate, slowing down users and causing frustration, which threatened client retention.

Solutions

The redesign focused on a modern, minimalist design with a monochromatic color palette to visually lighten the interface. Navigation was simplified with a fixed side menu for frequent tasks and a dynamic menu for user-specific actions.
Key data was grouped into interactive tables, allowing for quick and efficient access, thus reducing the number of steps required to complete common tasks.
