Overview

Techty is a self-initiated website redesign created to explore and improve visual hierarchy, spacing systems, and UI consistency across multiple pages. The goal was to take an existing corporate tech website and strip it back to its fundamentals, then rebuild the interface with cleaner structure and stronger visual rhythm.

Why This Project

Techty's original website wasn't broken. It functioned fine and communicated what it needed to. I chose it specifically because it was a solid baseline to work from. I wanted to sharpen my UI skills by taking something that already worked and pushing it further: tighter spacing, stronger hierarchy, more intentional use of whitespace. The challenge wasn't fixing problems, it was finding the gap between "works fine" and "feels polished."

My Approach

I started by auditing the original site's layout patterns, identifying where spacing broke down and where the visual hierarchy felt flat. From there, I built a spacing system in Figma and applied it consistently across every page. I focused on typography scale, whitespace as a design element, and making CTAs unmissable without being aggressive.

Key Design Decisions

Established a consistent 8px spacing grid across all pages
Simplified the navigation to reduce cognitive load
Used whitespace intentionally to let content breathe
Created a clear typographic hierarchy to guide the eye from headline to action
This is a concept/self-initiated project, not a client engagement.
