Overview

Global Rating Engine is an enterprise SaaS platform that enables organizations to manage and publish ratings with speed, consistency, and transparency. This project is a conceptual UX/UI redesign of the company's existing public website, focused on improving the overall user experience while preserving all original content and messaging.

The Problem

The original website contained valuable information, but its presentation didn't effectively communicate the platform's capabilities. The homepage relied heavily on text, making it difficult for users to quickly understand the product's value. Visual hierarchy was weak, calls-to-action lacked emphasis, and there was limited use of visuals to support the messaging.
Inconsistent spacing, basic UI components, and an outdated visual style reduced the overall perception of trust and professionalism expected from an enterprise SaaS platform.

My Approach

My goal was to modernize the experience while preserving all of the original website's content and messaging. The process followed four stages:
UX Audit — I evaluated the existing site to identify usability issues, assess information hierarchy, and map the overall user journey.
Wireframing — I created low-fidelity wireframes to restructure the homepage layout and improve content flow.
Design System — I developed a cohesive system covering typography, colors, spacing, buttons, and reusable components to ensure visual consistency.
High-Fidelity Design — I designed the final interface with a focus on readability, stronger visual hierarchy, and a more intuitive user flow.

Key Design Decisions

Redesigned the Hero Section I introduced a stronger visual hierarchy by pairing the existing headline with a product dashboard preview. This immediately communicates the platform's purpose and creates a more engaging first impression without changing the original messaging.
Improved Content Structure I reorganized sections using consistent spacing, card-based layouts, and clearer grouping of related information. This makes the homepage easier to scan and reduces cognitive load while preserving the existing content.
Created a Consistent Design System I established a cohesive system for colors, typography, buttons, cards, and spacing. This improves consistency across the interface and provides a scalable foundation for future pages.
Enhanced Trust and Visual Credibility I modernized UI components, testimonials, statistics, and call-to-action sections to create a more polished enterprise appearance. These improvements strengthen the platform's credibility and align the visual experience with user expectations for a professional software product.

Outcome and Reflection

Although this was a conceptual redesign, the final result significantly improved the overall user experience. The homepage became more structured, easier to navigate, and visually aligned with modern enterprise software standards. By improving hierarchy, spacing, and component consistency, users can now understand the platform's value more quickly without any changes to the original content.
This project reinforced the importance of thoughtful UX decisions over simply creating attractive visuals. Improving the presentation of existing content can have a significant impact on usability and perceived product quality. If I were to continue the project, I would conduct usability testing with real users and extend the redesign to the remaining pages to create a fully consistent experience.
This is a conceptual/spec redesign created for portfolio purposes. It is not affiliated with or commissioned by Global Rating Engine.
