Overview 🔎
eBank is an online bank that offers free accounts for everybody. The typical user is between 18 - 45 years old, and most users are teens and digital professionals.
eBank´s goal is to make banking accessible, easy to use, open 24/7, and to offer everyone the chance to open an account online with minimal requirements.
I was the solo UX designer. My roles were: conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, iterating on designs and responsive design.
Problem & Solution 🤝
To open a bank account, people needed to go to a physical branch and show certain documentation, and wait for them to send you a physical card to operate.
All this is time consuming and not available for everyone.
Goals/Requirements: Design a sign up feature that • It is easy to use • In just a few steps • With minimum requeriments
Process 🛣
I conducted user interviews, which then turned into empathy maps to better understand the target user and their needs.
Results from my research show that a fraction of users have never opened a bank account online.
Some people is frustrated because they do not have a good online banking experience.
Results 🎁
Our target users shared that the main flow was clear; I designed the site with a color combination that passes accessibility conformance, I used headings for clear visual hierarchy.
Font is simple and easy to read, too.

the fonts are very easy to read, the color pallette easy on the eyes and calm. Graphics are simple, and actually enhance the experience by guiding the user to a more intuitive path." 🗣

Takeaways 📣
What are some things you’ve learned from this project? Is there anything you’d do differently?
I learned that users want to have their financial information and resources at hand and they have the need to be able to access that information at all times.
The most important takeaway for me is that technology can help us close the gap in the access to banking and financial resources. Financial education is needed in today’s world.
