CryoSats: Crypto App

The CryoSats case study aimed to create a crypto app that combined a passion for Bitcoin with an engaging user experience. The challenge was to design an app that allows users to “freeze” their assets for staking, targeting crypto enthusiasts who frequently trade and use financial products. The app needed to make complex processes like wallet setup, fund reception, and staking intuitive and enjoyable.

The design process embraced a playful approach, incorporating elements like frosted ice sheets and whimsical wording such as “Yeah that’s cool” for confirmations related to “freezing” assets. Key user flows included setting up a secure wallet with a 12-word seed phrase, receiving funds, and staking coins to earn rewards. The visual theme drew inspiration from cryogenic concepts, featuring snow and fire icons, while ensuring adaptability across iOS and Android platforms.

CryoSats emerged as a fun and functional crypto app. The abstract ice flower logo cleverly combines the “ice” theme with the diamond-shaped logo of Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency. The Roboto Slab Medium font echoes the iconic slab serif look of Bitcoin’s “B.” A playful feature is the eye icon toggle, which blurs the user’s funds for added privacy in public spaces, enhanced by a frosted ice effect. This project highlighted the joy of integrating personal interests into design, resulting in an innovative solution for managing digital assets.
