The Challenge
Our client was seeking a seamless way to transform their Slack interactions into engaging HeyGen videos for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. They needed a solution that not only saved time but also ensured consistent, high-quality content delivery.
Building from Scratch
We embarked on a journey to build the automation workflow from the ground up. This approach allowed us to demonstrate each step involved, providing a clear understanding of the process.
Key Steps in the Automation
1. Slack Integration:
- We started by setting up a private Slack channel, "testing for hen," as the trigger module.
- Any audio recordings, lengthy messages, or URLs shared in this channel would kickstart the automation.
2. Handling Diverse Inputs:
- Our automation was designed to adapt to various input types:
- Audio Files: Downloaded using a specific module for further processing.
- Text Messages: Directly used for transcription and content creation.
- URLs: Extracting content information for enhanced video context.
3. Transcription and Cleanup:
- Leveraging OpenAI, we transcribed audio files and refined the text using Chat GPT.
- This ensured polished, error-free transcriptions ready for the next step.
4. Creating Engaging Summaries:
- We employed OpenAI again to generate concise, 20-word summaries ideal for social media use.
- These summaries captured the essence of the videos, enhancing viewer engagement.
5. HeyGen Video Creation:
- Utilizing HeyGen's API, we seamlessly translated text inputs into captivating videos.
- Customizations such as voice, background, and text were effortlessly integrated into the automation.
6. Streamlining Video Processing:
- To allow HeyGen ample time for video creation, we introduced a "sleep" function.
- Once processed, the video ID was retrieved for the next crucial steps.
7. Efficient Data Management:
- Videos were securely stored on Google Drive, ensuring easy access and backup.
- Detailed logs, including video IDs and URLs, were meticulously organized in a dedicated Google Sheet.
8. Approval and Social Media Posting:
- A notification was sent to the designated Slack channel for video approval.
- Upon approval, videos were seamlessly uploaded to social media platforms like YouTube with relevant copy and hashtags.
Results and Impact
By the end of the project, our client witnessed a transformative shift in their content creation process:
- Time Savings: Automation reduced manual tasks, saving valuable time for content creators.
