GigFinder: an artist booking marketplace on WordPress
A South African marketplace where labels list verified artists and event organisers book them. Profiles, discovery, negotiation and payment all had to work as one flow, built on WordPress.
What I built
Verified artist profiles with genre, location and starting price
Discovery filtered by performer type, genre, location and budget
Booking requests with offers and counter offers between both sides
Escrow backed payments with platform commission and automatic payouts
Separate dashboards for labels, organisers and admins
The hard part
Trust between strangers. An organiser will not send money to an artist they have never met, and an artist will not travel without knowing the money exists. Payment sits in escrow and is released after the event is confirmed, so neither side has to go first.
How it is built
Every feature ships as its own self contained code snippet on WordPress and Elementor, so a change to bookings cannot break discovery, and each part can be switched off and tested on its own.
Where it stands
Escrow payments are live. Final launch checks are in progress.
