WakalaPay is a conceptual crypto conversion app designed to simplify the process of exchanging cryptocurrencies into local fiat currencies. The project focused on building a frictionless user experience for fast, secure, and intuitive transactions—especially for users in emerging markets where crypto adoption is growing.
🧪 Research & Discovery
To understand the needs of crypto users, I conducted secondary research and built user personas based on common pain points in existing platforms. Key insights included:
Complex onboarding: Many users drop off due to unclear KYC steps
Lack of trust: Users need visual cues and feedback to feel secure
Slow conversion flows: Speed and clarity are critical for retention
Mobile-first behavior: Most users transact via mobile, not desktop
These findings shaped the app’s architecture, flow, and visual hierarchy.
