GamesZone NG Website Design

Project Overview

Client Name: Muhammed Adepoju
Industry: Gaming & E-commerce
Objective: Create an engaging and user-friendly platform where Nigerian gamers can browse, purchase, and stay updated on trending games and consoles.
Scope: UX/UI design, responsive website design, streamlined checkout flow, and visual identity alignment.
Duration: 2 weeks

The Challenge

GamesZone.ng wanted to stand out as a trusted hub for gamers but faced some key issues:
The old site lacked personality and didn’t reflect the energy of the gaming community.
Navigation and checkout felt clunky, causing drop-offs before purchase.
Product pages weren’t optimized for showcasing high-value consoles and bundles.
The challenge was to design a site that not only looked exciting but also worked seamlessly to boost conversions.

The Approach

I started by stepping into the shoes of the gamer:
Mapped out a user journey from product discovery → cart → checkout.
Researched gaming e-commerce patterns (Steam, GameStop, etc.) to borrow what works while localizing the experience for Nigeria.
Focused on clarity, speed, and trust signals (reviews, badges, secure checkout).
Used bold, game-inspired visuals and a dark-themed UI to match the gaming culture.

The Solution

The new design delivered:
A striking hero section highlighting new arrivals and exclusive deals.
Easy navigation with categories for consoles, games, and accessories.
Optimized product cards with clear pricing, stock info, and “Add to Cart” CTAs.
A streamlined checkout flow designed to reduce cart abandonment.
Responsive design that feels just as immersive on mobile as desktop.

The Results

While still early, the redesign is positioned to drive impact:
Smoother browsing leading to fewer drop-offs at checkout.
Improved trust with clearer security and review sections.
Stronger brand identity gamers instantly feel at home on the site.
