Airbnb Bali Epic Brand film - capturing the details
Airbnb Bali Travel Ad
Airbnb Bali — Travel Ad
Overview
I created a travel ad for Airbnb, showcasing Bali as the ultimate peaceful getaway.
This project was a personal tribute to the brand — designed to highlight my skills in editing, sound design, storytelling, and visual rhythm for branded travel content.
Challenge
Airbnb ads often balance emotion, atmosphere, and brand trust.
My challenge was to recreate that tone without access to original footage, and still make the video feel like a real Airbnb campaign.
I wanted viewers to feel the calm, serenity, and wonder of a hidden escape — the feeling of finding peace away from the world.
To achieve that:
I researched Airbnb’s visual style and tone, analyzing their existing ads for pacing, music, and color grading.
I studied how they use light, ambient sound, and transitions to convey emotion.
I curated footage from multiple sources, structuring a narrative around a couple escaping to Bali for rest and reconnection.
I built a shot sequence to guide the emotional arc — starting with chaos and noise, ending with stillness and connection.
Process
Concept & Story: “Find your peace in Bali” — a story told through sound and atmosphere, not dialogue.
Editing & Structure: Focused on visual flow and emotional rhythm. Used quick cuts for city life, slower dissolves for Bali scenes.
Music: Selected a soft, uplifting track to mirror Airbnb’s brand tone.
Color & Grading: Warm, natural hues to evoke comfort and authenticity.
Outcome
The finished piece captures the Airbnb spirit of belonging and calm — a short, cinematic escape that feels both aspirational and attainable.
It’s been well-received for its cinematic pacing, emotional sound design, and strong brand feel, and now serves as a key portfolio piece to showcase my approach to branded storytelling.
I wanted to convey the feel and sound of peace and relaxation. To really dive into the calm and rest of Bali using sumptuous visuals and engaging sound design.
