In spring 2021 we embarked on creating a listings page that could ascend Google's search rankings. To get our product on the map, we needed to appease Google's page rank score, an algorithm that requires low bounce rates and very high engagement.
So, our requirements for the page were as follows:
a) Fast load times
b) Long duration spent on page
c) Something different from the currently dominant Zillow and Redfin (give people a reason to come back).
The Page
I proposed a page with a massive amount of content, quick-loading skeletons that wouldn't impact load times, and horizontal carousels to make scrolling easier. Here's the result. We designed and developed the concept over the course of 6 months.
Top of the fold. Multimedia content like videos and virtual tours are directly accessible without having to scroll below.
Highlight cards previewing each section of the page.
Teaching prospective homebuyers about the quality of night sky they might see in the homes they're interested in.
We feed Google satellite footage into our database and return a TreeScore that interprets the amount of foliage in any given photo.
Historical price tracker.
Crime maps near the home.
Imbedded Strava maps
Here's an example of the page in action:
