My goal was to redesign the Payments system in ShopManager’s platform to make it faster, more transparent, and easier for shops to process transactions, ultimately improving payment accuracy and reducing time spent on payment-related issues.
Project Goals:
Increase Transaction Efficiency: Streamline the payments workflow to reduce time spent on processing each transaction.
Enhance User Experience: Simplify the interface and ensure that critical payment steps are clear, minimizing confusion and errors.
Improve Transparency: Provide clear feedback and visual indicators to inform users of payment status and completion.
Challenges & Requirements: User feedback revealed several pain points: payments were taking longer than necessary due to an unstructured flow, users often missed key actions due to lack of clear guidance, and error messages were either unclear or missing entirely. The redesign focused on addressing these issues by creating a seamless flow with strong visual cues, real-time feedback, and an organized layout.
My Approach:
User Research & Pain Point Identification: Conducted interviews and observed users interacting with the payment system to map out frustrations and stumbling blocks. This helped me understand where the current flow was failing and where it could be simplified.
Wireframes & High-Fidelity Prototypes: Built wireframes and interactive prototypes in Figma, focusing on a clean, logical layout that made each step of the payment process clear. I also added distinct indicators for payment progress and confirmation.
Feedback Integration: Worked closely with end users to test prototypes, iterating on design changes based on their feedback to ensure that the system felt intuitive and easy to navigate.
Scalability in Design System: Designed reusable components for the payment interface that fit into ShopManager’s existing design system, allowing future updates to maintain visual consistency.
Results:
36% Increase in Transaction Efficiency: Streamlined steps and clear visual cues reduced the time needed for each payment, helping shops process transactions faster.
Reduced Errors by 60%: Improved feedback and validation cut down on user mistakes, leading to smoother payment processing and less time spent on corrections.
Enhanced User Satisfaction: Positive feedback from users reflected an improved experience, with clearer payment statuses and an overall smoother workflow.
This project underscored the importance of clarity and user-centered design in financial transactions. By refining the flow and integrating user feedback, I was able to create a more efficient, intuitive payment process that aligned with ShopManager’s business objectives and improved the day-to-day experience for its users.
