Resume for your website
Mediakito is one of my side projects. I created it as a SaaS tool for bloggers, so they can easily build Media Kit and showcase it to potential advertisers, sponsors, and partners.
I had this idea for a few years and finally managed to launch the product in 2019. Today I think that it was too late - it’s been already the era of social media & influencers, not bloggers.
Regardless, I’m happy that I validated my idea with real customers and learned a lot - both from technical & product perspectives.
The product looked very good thanks to my friend Dawid, who designed the Landing Page and Mediakit itself. To launch the MVP, I needed to develop three different parts:
- Landing Page
- Mediakit (mediakito.com/<username>)
- Administration panel - for users, to manage their profiles.
What have I learned?
- Vue.js framework - extended my knowledge of writing reusable Vue.js components.
- Laravel Cashier - it was the first time when I integrated Stripe payments with this library.
- Laravel Dusk - writing E2E tests to test the Vue.js admin panel frontend.
- API integrations - approval processes, automatically refreshing data (Google Analytics, Fb, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) on a daily basis.
- Product development - building it public (thanks Makerlog!), user acquisition, pricing strategy, lean startup methodology.
- CI/CD - learned how to configure & use CircleCI.
