Product Design for an Employability & Learning Platform

Designed a marketplace platform built to bridge the gap between education and employment across Africa. The platform connects four key user types: learners, institutions, professional institutes, and employers, through tailored courses, mentorship, job simulations, and an employability index called TEESI. My role covered the full product design across multiple user flows and platform sections.
The task: To design an ecosystem with four distinct user types, each with different goals and needs. Learners needed guided learning paths and access to mentorship. Institutions needed tools to publish and manage courses. Employers needed visibility into candidate employability. All of this had to live within one coherent platform without creating confusion or friction for any user group.
Solution I focused on clarity and user-centred architecture to hold the ecosystem together.
Key tasks included:
Mapping user flows for all four user types: learners, institutions, professional institutes, and employers
Designing the onboarding, dashboard, course browsing, and mentorship booking flows
Building the TEESI employability index feature into the learner experience
Designing featured learning tracks across Product Management, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, Design Thinking, and Business Operations
Creating a consistent design system across all platform sections
Ensuring the platform felt welcoming and accessible for first-time users
Scope of Work
End-to-end UX/UI design
Multi-role user flow mapping
Dashboard and marketplace design
Employability index (TEESI) feature design
High-fidelity Figma prototype
Design system creation
Result A clean, structured employability platform that serves 25,000+ learners, 120+ institutions, and 1,200+ mentors, giving every user type exactly what they need within one unified experience.
