In 2018, I launched Urbane, a pioneering social platform designed that bridge the gap between local service providers and their consumers. Initially, the platform supported diverse categories, from restaurants and hair salons to naprapaths and gyms, offering an all-in-one solution for service discovery and automated marketing.
The Problem
Local service providers struggled with fragmented visibility due to exclusive contracts across multiple booking platforms. For consumers, this meant wasted time navigating scattered sites to find the right options.
Solution
Urbane scraped booking sites like OpenTable, embedding them into one centralized platform for seamless bookings and data tracking. AI-powered recommendations improved with usage, while the social marketplace let users follow friends and influencers. Initial categories included restaurants, salons, massage parlors, gyms, and naprapaths....
Urbane was a game-changer, transforming fragmented local service bookings into a seamless, AI-driven social marketplace.
By aggregating scattered providers and embedding their booking systems, we streamlined the user experience and continuously improved personalized suggestions.
